Hey every one, hope you are all having a relaxing evening! I am so excited tonight as I have come to the conclusion that the Beaver I have been visiting is indeed my animal Totem! Almost every evening now for more then a week I have gone to the river to find my spiritual connection with my Creator, I have come face to face with my friend the Beaver! Last night and then again tonight just before dark I would sit quietly along the river bank watching and listening to the stream of water running over rocks and under and around branches hanging over the side of the river bank. Branches are pilling up in that spot, with all sorts of things from wooden planks, branches, plastic and rubber, leaves and who nows what else. It is there that every evening, quietly, slowly, yet with out fear, comes floating a beaver, up and out of that place just down side of the log jam. I think it is his home!
Tonight just like last night he floated by looking me right in the eyes, only this time he swam back up three different times! Each time he looked me in the eyes floating by again like to say "I see you, and for some reason I trust you! My heart stood still at the same time my spirit called out with joy at the connection of our spirits! The Beavers life tells a story of how to live life and trust that it is hard work that brings you the gifts of life! Here is a description of the Beavers story,
" Maintaining the ability to be productive by not limiting your options,
Being persistent,
Using available resources,
Using alternate ways of doing tasks,
Master builder of all things,
Not damming the flow of experiences in life,
Achievement through completion of tasks,
Understanding dynamics of group work "
All though I have only seen one in this instance.
I believe the Beaver is telling me what I need to understand to better understand how to move forward with my life! I trust that our Creator and, my understanding, of the Creator uses all things to teach us the lessons he has laid out for us to learn; that we can understand who he is and how we can trust his mighty wisdom. That Beaver tonight could have been afraid of me or even not even notice me, but he did notice me and I him! Our hearts, minds and spirits connected for that few moments seeking and searching for truth! I wanted to help him so I began to pull some of the broken branches down out of the bushes as I could see where the last ones I left for him had indeed been added to the massive sculpture being constructed there right in front of me! I look forward to tomorrow when I can return and perhaps see with my own eyes they wonders of Gods creation which I am a part of once again! To see all the friends who live around me and with me who I might never know if I hadn't taken the time to sit still and listen and watch! Last night the same thing happened but I had my dog Marble, a mini dachshund with me and he too saw the beaver come floating up, he looked right at it but because I was being so still he too remained still but at attention. It was so magical, the feeling of joy at that moment made me feel so blessed to have such a place to go so near to my home! I believe the spirit of God lead me here knowing I need this connection to nature!
I have to tell you about the Humming Birds! If only I had a picture! While replacing the feeder one day last year, I climbed up the ladder to replace it and was swarmed by about a dozen or so Rufus and Black Chin humming birds, I believe most of them were the young that were born earlier that season. There I was standing on the ladder just as still as could be and they were fluttering right in my face and eating out of the feeder held in my hand! I am blessed I tell you!
I want to share with you a site which I have learned about Animal Totems and the gifts they give us in the form of wisdom and foresight! Enjoy, and I hope you too might take the time to sit and be still, looking and listening, to the stories our creator has to tell us!
